Google Effect, How much we are depending on it?

Hah. not finding certain answer for my solaris administration training module (c’mmon let’s GOOGLE it). This is the present scenario. There is nothing on this holy earth which is not there on web. And when saying web it is not wrong to say GOOGLE as google is big daddy of all search engines. When ever I find difficult to get results on any problem, I google the problem and linez of results pop out and this is not only case with me. Google is 60% used search engine used by world.  What to write 2/3 of google revenue comes from search only.

In this case lets assume how much Google can decide over the fate of a company which is doing business online. Lets think about any SEO company or say Marketing firm which recieves 70% of traffic from search enines (you can assume this as they are better customized for search engines), Google being the biggest and most widely used search engine delivers here too and contributes for 70% of the search engine traffic for website. And yes the web company is doing very good in terms of revenues, internet share and web popularity.

Now how badly sudden change in algorithm of web site ranking by google can affect the company. Same company which is there on the number one position will find it difficult to maintain its position on first page. Any how much difference it will make to traffic of website, that’s what every one can imagine. Same is the case goes with any resource available on web.

But lets not think that much wierd. After all Google is responsible for all revolution taking place in web market - be it adsense, search engine marketing or watever. Today’s web world is directly and directly proportional to google. If Google starts changing algorithm for displaying and ranking websites there will be a lot of surprises due in future.

Now lets talk about dependencies in general day to day life. Just becaue of its simple page and very highly relevant search results google is number destination for web surfers for finding solution for any known problem. We can find how to make hot Indian curry as well as how to cast black magic on same level i.e.  search engine. Every thing is available on web. And no wonder why Google has taken a formidable lead from all other compitors like YAHOO and MSN which are in market(existance) for long time.  But nothing gonna stop people from googling the google.
