Configure E-Mail Client Outlook for Rediffmail®, Eudora, Netscape

Incoming Server: pop.rediffmail.com

  • Outgoing Server: smtp.rediffmail.com
  • Username: Your Rediffmail username
  • Password: Your Rediffmail password

How do I configure the email (Outlook Express / Netscape / Eudora) client to read and write my Rediffmail mails?

Set up POP 3 for Outlook Express

Allows you to add a new email account to your existing profile. This means you do not have to replace your current settings in order to send and receive Rediffmail messages.

  1. From the Tools menu, choose “Accounts”.
  2. Select the “Mail” tab. Click the “Add” button.
  3. From the Add menu, click “Mail”.
  4. In the text box labeled Display Name, type your name and click “Next”.
  5. In the Email Address box, type your Rediffmail address.
  6. Select “POP3? to answer the question “My incoming mail server is a…”.
  7. In the Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP, or HTTP) server box, type “pop.rediffmail.com”.
  8. In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server box, type “smtp.rediffmail.com”.
  9. Click “Next”.
  10. In the Account Name box, type your Rediffmail Email-ID.
  11. In the Password box, type your Rediffmail Password.
  12. If you want Outlook Express to remember your password, check the “Remember password” box.
  13. * Do not check the boxes labeled “Log on using Secure…”·
  14. Click “Next”. Click “Finish”.

Set up POP 3 for Netscape Messenger

  1. From the Edit menu on the toolbar, select “Preferences”.
  2. Under the Mail & Newsgroups category on the left, select “Mail Servers”.
  3. Click “Add” to display the Mail Server Properties dialog box.
  4. In the Server name box, type “pop.rediffmail.com”.
  5. Under Server Type, click the pull-down list and select “POP3 Server”.
  6. Under User Name, type your Rediffmail Email-Id.
  7. * Important: Please use a ‘+’ sign instead of the ‘@’ in the Email-address.
  8. Check “Remember password” so you don’t have to re-enter your password each time you start Messenger.
  9. You’ll be prompted for your password initially.
  10. Select the “POP” tab and check the box labeled “Leave messages on server”.
  11. Click “OK”.
  12. In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server box, type “smtp.rediffmail.com”.
  13. In the Outgoing mail server user name box, type your Rediffmail Email-Id.
  14. * Important: Please use a ‘+’ sign instead of the ‘@’ in the Email-address·
  15. Click “OK.” · Under the Mail & Newsgroups category on the left, select “Identity”.
  16. In the Email Address box, type your Rediffmail address.
  17. Click “OK”.

Set up POP 3 for Eudora

Here is pop3 and smtp address of Rediffmail written below: -

  • Incoming POP3 server address :- pop.rediffmailpro.com
  • Outgoing SMTP Server Address :- smtp.rediffmailpro.com

    i’m not albe to configure the windows live client for rediffmail. Could any one help me in this. Is there any port number to be canged? or could any one please mail me the detailed steps apart from the steps mentioned above?

    @Arun : Try to import it from outlook. I am not sure it will come as such but have to check.

    I heard about not bad application-microsoft outlook password recovery, this application know how recover forgotten or lost passwords for *.pst files created in various versions of the Microsoft Outlook mail client: Microsoft Outlook 97 - Microsoft Outlook 2002 and Microsoft Outlook 2003, can save the configuration of Microsoft Outlook identities to a plain text file.     i have tried to configure rediffmail free acount to my micrsoft outlook as per your instructions but was not suceeded. Please advise.

    the username & password dialogue box appearing many times & it was rejected all times.
    but, my userid & password was ok.
