Apart from related post adding new links and content to older posts will help visitors to track the other posts of your blog easily, thus giving visitor better blog navigation experience.
One extra advantage of re-writing article is that it will give the opportunity to add new and more relevant content in older articles and which will help visitors to get more information on your blog.
Above are few advantages of doing article re-editing. The results of doing this can be immediate and sometimes it will take some time to boost the traffic for the blog. But we are not paying some one to do this for us or are we? As long it is matter of just editing, then doing this is worth risk taking and compromising with current traffic. But on practical basis it will always help the blogger to get more traffic and more page views per visit by visitors.

when updating more articles there is a much bigger chance in you getting your required audience that you are looking for! so yes, it is a very good idea to update your old articles otherwise they look very outdated just like a forum post which are weeks old
Hy, i totally agrree with the updating..we hav many automatic article updaters, which will change the article on changing the language…GoodGoing..
I think thath article rewriting has more disadvantages. Things/articles have not “straight to the point concept” anymore.
I think article re-writing is also good for taking an “old” article, whether from your blog or not, and putting a new “spin” on it. Maybe make it more relevant to current events, etc.
